Biography
John Hennan is an advocate by instinct and a strategist by discipline. Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, John is drawn to cases in which thoughtful strategy, intensive preparation, and determined advocacy can make a meaningful difference. John is at home in the courtroom, and leverages his penchant for charismatic, effective advocacy to aid in settling cases on favorable terms for his clients, as well as for other attorneys and parties when serving himself as mediator.
John has been recognized by Super Lawyers for 12 consecutive years—first as a Texas Rising Star from 2015 through 2022 and then as a Texas Super Lawyer from 2022 through 2026. In 2022, he was also named to the Up-and-Coming 100 list of Texas Rising Stars.
John earned his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and later earned a Master of Laws from University College London (UCL), where he studied internationally in London, completing his thesis on international children’s rights in the context of family religion and discipline.
Outside the office, John relishes international travel and enjoys reading and studying medieval and Renaissance history. John loves all music, and gears up for trial listening to everything from Iron Maiden to Tina Turner. He also enjoys working out, hiking, playing rugby, and spending extended periods roughhousing with his eight dogs—Bruni, Brela, Zeppelin, Gucci, Mav, Rosie, Katy, and Rocco.
