Biography

Vanessa is currently in her 21st year as a litigation paralegal. She is a graduate of Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State University), in San Marcos, with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and Psychology. She interned as a paralegal in San Marcos for a year and a half before her graduation from college in 2003. Vanessa began her internship working in civil litigation and capital criminal defense. Upon graduation, she moved to Austin and began working in family law, where she still focuses her practice today. She is a member of the National Association of Legal Assistants, the Paralegal Division of the State Bar of Texas, and the Capital Area Paralegal Association. She regularly attends continuing education seminars and especially enjoys courtroom litigation.

When she’s not working, Vanessa spends time with her three children and her wife, camping, hiking, gardening, swimming, and enjoying the outdoors. She volunteers with both Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, at her children’s schools with PTA and Classroom Events, and is on the Sponsorship Committee and the Lead Photographer with her children’s high school band.
